Our Experince in Jurong Lake Park
On Monday, we went to Jurong Lake Park. The Jurong Lake is a 70ha freshwater lake and reservoir located in the western region of Singapore formed with the damming of Sungei Jurong further downstream. It was build in 2006. It is located next to the Lakeside Interchange. Also, there were several tourist attraction located near or even within the Lake, including a Chinese Garden and a Japanese Garden. We thought that the park was a little dirty and smelly. Some places were filled with litter while some were very clean. There were many different types of plants there, like Pong Pong, Coconut Trees, Bird of Paradise, and a lot more. Different kind of insects and animals filled the place too, like squirrels, spiders, ants, birds, etc. Also, we saw an old man fishing there, using a small fish as a bait. He should not do that as it will destroy the pond community in the lake. Anyway, we can see the layer oil on top of the lake. This is probably due to the oil spill that happened resently. Because of the pollution, many organisms such as turtles and birds were seen dead on the ground. We felt a need to conserve and preserve the environment as we could see that the park was gradually getting polluted. |
